CHECK VALVE TRIM AND ACCESSORIES

    STELLITE FACED TRIM: The mating faces of the clapper and seat are weld inlayed with 1/16" thickness Stellite No. 6 to give a super hard surface for long life. This provides metal-to-metal seal only, but can be furnished with 0-ring seal at extra cast.

    STAINLESS STEEL FACED TRIM: The mating faces of the clapper and seat are weld inlayed with 1/16" thickness stainless steel. Unless some other alloy stainless steel is specified, austenitic grades will be supplied.

    METAL-TO-METAL SEAT: For high temperature applications. Bolted top construction with flat asbestos cover seal for services to 800 degrees F. For service 800 degrees F. and above cover seal will be RTJ.

    RENEWABLE SEAT RING: A carbon steel ring recessed into the check valve body provides the upstream sealing surface for the clapper and can be replaced if worn or damaged to effect a new seal face.

    EPOXY RESIN INTERNAL COATING: Internal lining of check valve with 3M Scotch Kate 101 to provide corrosion resistance and retard paraffin build up.

    VITON SEAL: Cover and clapper seals compounded of Viton A synthetic rubber for high temperature service not to exceed 400 degrees F. continuous operation. Viton A in "aromatics" will combat swelling.

    RING TYPE JOINT GROOVE IN RANGES: Extra charge for ring joint grooves in raised face flanges on ANSI 150, 300, 400 and 600 only. Prices shown are for ring joint grooves in each flange.

    **HYDRAULIC SLAM RETARDER: For severe pressure surge service as found in gas compressor discharge lines. The clapper shaft is extended and fitted with hydraulic actuators that are adjustable and removable while valve is in service.

    **EXTENDED CLAPPER SHAFT: Clapper shaft is extended through valve body. Extended shaft can be trimmed for several different applications:

  1. Clapper Position Indicator

  2. Counter balance Arms and Weights

a. To hold minimal amount of back pressure

b. To help hold clapper open

  1. Lever Lock Clapper Open and/or Closed

    The color coding for the identification of materials in standard check valves is as follows;

COLOR & VALVE MATERIAL

  • Bright Blue = All Steel

  • Dark Blue = Cast Iron

  • Black = Ductile Iron

  • Bare (Natural Color) = All Aluminum Bronze and all Bronze

"Special" check valves will carry an orange spot of paint on their covers.
